Treva Obbard has a B.A. in Creative Writing and many years of non-profit experience. She is the beneficiary of arts programs in public schools, and holds a lifelong affection for public performance of all kinds. Her favorite musical instrument is the human voice. When not at work, Treva can most often be found either reading or writing fantasy fiction.

Born and raised in the Bay Area, Alyssa Pluth brings a passion for education and serving her community. She has earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources and Organizational Behavior from California State University, East Bay, but continues to expand her knowledge and horizons. Although she has coached basketball for many years, she has always been drawn to music, attending concerts of all genres and surrounding herself with some soul, classic, and jazz. In her free time, you can find Alyssa in nature.
Volunteers
Cantare volunteers assist in our youth programs in Oakland in the classroom, at after-school choir rehearsals, and with concert production and transportation. Opportunities are available during the day and night. Inquiries here.

Melody Herder-Jimison, who sings in the Cantare Adult Choir and Ensemble, is a veteran volunteer with our Music Education Program at Lincoln Elementary School in Oakland.
