  • Purpose: Continuing to transform the lives of 2,650+ Oakland youth (21,000 since we started!) in strengthening our community.

  • Methodology: K-12 grade choral music offerings that elicit appreciation, mutual respect and immense beauty.

Our auditioned 100-voice symphonic Chorale rehearses and performs a variety of compelling and challenging choral music during our concert season.

The Chorale celebrates its 25th anniversary in March 2024 with Homeward Bound.

Stay Connected

Cantare’s innovative and inclusive in-school music education classes and afterschool choirs reach underserved Oakland children who lack access to the arts. We provide tuition-free choral music instruction led by experienced teaching artists—and offer students a safe, supportive, and fun experience through our multicultural curriculum.
